Price guarantee is a feature available in a selected few stores in Sweden, ensuring you always pay the absolute lowest price for a product.

Typically, if you haven’t opened the packaging of a product, you can return it to the original store within the specified return period, usually at least one month. This option remains even if the store reduces the price after your purchase. You can return the product, provided the return period is valid, and receive a refund, then repurchase the item at the lower price in the same store.

Some stores take it a step further by offering a price guarantee, assuring you of the lowest price available across all stores. With this guarantee, if you find the same product priced lower elsewhere within a set period, typically one month, you can claim the price difference by providing evidence to the store.

Can I get price gurantee from any stores in Sweden?

However, this does not apply to food items, which cannot be usually returned. For electrical or electronic or other consumer items that you’ve already started using, if you discover the same brand selling at a significantly lower price in another store , you can still claim the price difference, provided you have the receipt and the return period hasn’t expired. Ensure the product’s barcode matches that of the lower-priced item in the other store and that you have the right to return it if the packaging is unopened.

To claim the price difference, purchase the item from the store with the lower price and return the same item to the original store with the higher-priced receipt to receive a refund. The barcode, provided by the manufacturer, must match for both items. Stores use this barcode in their systems to set prices but don’t print their own barcode  on the packaging.

This method enables you to claim price differences for any items which can be legally returnable if unused or unopened.
